St Mawes

The Village

A gem of a village on the Roseland Peninsula. A short ferry trip away from the walks across National Trust land to St Anthony Head and the beaches of Porthbeor and Towan. Regular ferries also run to Falmouth town centre and to the Maritime Museum.

The numerous footpaths in the area offer a variety of types of walking from a long trek to more gentle strolls. Many are on National Trust land and take you through tree lined paths up to the most glorious sea views. There are also many places of historic interest in the area such as the Castles of St Mawes and Pendennis and the beautiful hidden church of St Just. There are a variety of venues available for eating and drinking, ranging from the friendly pubs to the boutique hotel restaurants. A cafe and two bakeries offer traditional pasties and Cornish cream teas. And a deli, a fish and chip outlet and ice cream parlour provide the opportunity to enjoy snacks on the nearby beaches.
